Water is very important to the health of the cat. Cats can easily get dehydrates sand this is why they need to be given an average of 60 ml to 80 ml of water. The water consumption however depends on the weather and this is why the intake should be carefully monitored.

Proteins are one of the most essential nutrients. They help in repairing tissues, build muscle, and supply the much required energy. All proteins are not the same. They vary in the content of their amino acids. Feed your cat with fish, meat, milk and eggs.

Carbs are essential nutrients. Although too much carbohydrate is not required, they act as important suppliers of energy. Some cats may not be able to tolerate carbohydrates and this is why you need to keep watch.

Minerals and vitamins are important. Phosphorus and calcium are important as are manganese, copper, iron, chloride, potassium, sodium, magnesium and iodine. Vitamins help in the maintenance of certain physical processes. Most of the cat foods are fortified with vitamins, and this is why the felines should be supplied with one of these nutrients.
